September’s coming to a close, but not before we discuss it’s Refuge Colour of the Month! Moonstone is one of the greys in our Geode collection, with soft green undertones that make it the perfect match for interiors with lots of plant babies. See it in comparison to our other greys here:
We love to see the range!

So long, white kitchens
As satisfying as a crisp, white kitchen can be, we’re all about cabinets with colour now. (Is grey a colour or a shade? Let’s save that debate for another time). Soft grey cabinets add depth to a kitchen, and if you have counters like the ones seen here in @amberinteriors’ design, it plays on the darker shades in the marble - making a perfect match.

Gold pairs exceptionally well with this shade of grey - you can see that here with the gold light fixtures and hardware in this kitchen. Would you also keep things simple with white subway tile or add a pop with a patterned tile? Perhaps Calacatta Cressa or Nero Marquina?

Have some fun with it!
Do you want your bold personality to be reflected in your space? Use more than one colour! Pair Moonstone with a green to make its undertones sing, or pair it with a statement red like @clemencerafin! Red & green are complementary colours (as you may remember from art class all those years ago), so placing those two colours next to one another will create an appealing colour palette. How fun is it with that patterned carpet?!

Add some texture
Hoping for something eye-catching, but not into using more than one colour? Add some texture to your walls! Use leftover plywood from a previous project, or head to your local home improvement store for the few materials you need to bring this look to life. It’s a project you can take on in a day, just ask our friends Laura (@knapptime_crafts) and Olga! See Laura’s work here, and Olga’s here.

In the bedroom
A soft grey is the ideal colour for a bedroom - calming, neutral, and fitting for most design styles. @nestingwithgrace used earthy tones and rustic patterns in her design, and BOY does it look good! See how plants bring out the subtle green tint on the walls? Simply another reason to go buy more…
Could Moonstone work in your space? A front door, mudroom, headboard, or even a dining table and chairs could rock this shade. If you use it, let us know! We love seeing Refuge in action.
