If you paint your walls with our sunny Citrine, you’re at risk of having “Here Comes the Sun” by the Beatles stuck in your head every time you look at it. How can you be in a bad mood with that buttercup-yellow hue? For some ideas on how to bring this (recycled!) paint colour into your home, keep scrolling. And be sure to share how you’d like to use Citrine in the comments down at the bottom!
First, let’s talk walls! Susi at @susibellamy kept her ceiling and door a creamy white so the yellow walls could take center stage. And did they ever! With a wall colour like yellow, it’s a great idea to keep the fun going and introduce exciting prints like the ones on the pillow and lampshade.
DIY queen Margerat Wright (@margerat.wright) opted for a bold circular colour block to match the other yellow walls in this eclectic bedroom. A twist on an accent wall that I am very much into! With a wall like this, you’ll always be waking up with the sun, (aw).
Next up: kitchens. Spruce up those cupboards! These beauties call @plainenglishkitchens’ showroom home in NYC. How awesome do they look paired with dark knobs?!
Do you wish your mudroom was a little nicer to look at? Take a page out of @jonathanlegate's design notebook! The matching shelf and bench are a perfect choice to go with the white board & batten walls and herringbone tile flooring. If my mudroom looked like this, I’d be sure to take my time removing my shoes & coat when I got home just to admire it!
Painting your walls or cupboards yellow can feel pretty permanent. Try painting a piece of furniture instead! Jade at @jadelovejoy may have dubbed this piece “the offensive yellow cupboard” but I’m only feeling envy!
I truly don’t think I’ll be satisfied until I have a home with a colourful front door. How darling are these three? @tea_at_83’s bumblebee door knocker is all kinds of cute paired with that buttery yellow! @mamaw.uk was right to snap a pic of this adorable front door. Absolute goals with a window pane & arch like that! I love a good door mat - it’s a great way to incorporate some fun into your welcome space. Doesn’t @hannahscolourfulworld’s “Ciao” mat look great with her lemon-coloured door?
More of a yellow-on-the-inside kind of person? Paint the inside of your front door! Sarisa at @indigoleopardhome painted an arch on her door and I can’t get enough of it. Interiors like this one remind me that any part of your home can be as beautiful as you dream it to be. Added to the Pinterest board!
@bikeshit shared this yellow garage and I couldn’t resist adding it to the list. It’s eye-catching, it’s contemporary, it IS the moment. If you’ve got a car (or a bicycle) that deserves a special introduction, this is the garage for you.
Has Citrine been added to your cart yet? It’s in mine! After my thrifted cabinet DIY project with Angelite, I’m ready for another. How will you use our sunny Refuge colour of the month? Let me know!
